Privacy notice

This notice explains how Node Layerhub handles personal data. It sits alongside the cookie notice.

Data controller

What we collect

From the contact form: name, email, optional topic, and the message you type. From email and phone: whatever you choose to send. From the site technically: server logs such as IP address and user agent, kept only as needed for security. If you accept analytics cookies, page paths may be recorded as described in the cookie notice. Rejecting cookies does not stop you reading the site.

Why we use it

We reply to enquiries, keep a record of who asked about a desk, and — if you later enrol — administer tuition. The legal bases we rely on are legitimate interests in running a teaching practice, and contract where we have agreed a seat in writing. Consent is used only for optional analytics cookies.

Retention

Unsuccessful enquiries are kept for 18 months so we can see whether we already answered a question. Invoices and enrolment records are kept for six years after the tax year they relate to. Server logs are rotated within 90 days unless a security investigation needs a longer hold. Cookie choices stored in your browser remain until you clear storage.

Who we share with

We use an email host and, if you enrol, an accountant. We do not sell lists. If a processor sits outside the UK, we use a UK-approved transfer tool such as the UK Addendum to the EU SCCs, or we keep the processing in the UK.

International transfers

Fonts are requested from Google Fonts when a page loads; that request may leave the UK. Images may be requested from Unsplash’s content delivery network. If that is unacceptable, the site still functions for text if those requests are blocked, though layout images will not appear.

Your rights

You may ask for a copy of your data, a correction, erasure, restriction, or objection to legitimate-interests processing, and you may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. To exercise rights, write to hello@node-layerhub.digital. We may need to confirm it is you.

Children

Programmes are aimed at working adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
